OUR PROGRAMS

MAHAPERIYAVA ANUSHAM PUJAI

Shri Mahapeiyava of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam was born on the holy Anuradha (anusham)  nakshatram. Devotees all around the world celebrate by praying to his holy padukas every month on anusham.

AVITTAM PUJAI

Are you interested in performing a pudu periyava paduka pujai on Avittam?

BHAGAVADPADA SHUKLA PANCHAMI PUJA

Our Shankaracharyas, who come from the illustrious lineage of Sri Adi Shankara himself and gone and established various Peetams, all exhort that we perform the Shukla Panchami Pujai for the great seer.

Both Kanchi and Sringeri Acharyas have repeatedly mentioned the importance of this pujai.

Sri Mahasannidhanam of Sringeri Sharadha Peetam, in His Anugraha Bhashanam has said that it is our foremost duty to remember and revere Sri Adi Shankaracharya, the incarnation of Lord Parameshwara, for reviving Sanatana Dharma and for showing the path of welfare to all. Remembrance of Sri Adi Shankaracharya and His virtues can be done by all by chanting His Ashtottara Shatanama. If we understand the pregnant meanings behind each name in the Ashtottara, and chant the names, it will be as if Sri Adi Shankaracharya Himself stands before us giving us His Darshan. Sri Mahasannidhanam blessed that every follower of Sanatana Dharma participates in this Japa Yajna, the greatness of which is vouched for by Bhagavan Himself in the Gita, where He states – “यज्ञानां जपयज्ञोऽस्मि” – Of all Yajnas, I am the Japa-Yajna. Sri Mahasannidhanam also said that the the Parayana of the Ashtottara of Sri Adi Shankaracharya must become part of our daily prayers.

As exhorted by Sri Mahasannidhanam and Sri Sannidhanam, BMNA is pleased to host a recurring monthly puja on Shukla Panchami, the tithi of our beloved Acharyal.

The summum bonum of the puja will be the chanting of the Ashtothara Nama (108 names) of

  • Sri Krishna Paramathma, our eternal Jagadguru

  • Sri Veda Vyasa, the saint who compiled and preserved the Vedas through the yugaas and

  • Sri Adi Shankara the rejuvenator of Sanathana Dharma.

This will be followed by

  • Upachara Puja

  • Harathi

  • Chanting of Thotaka Ashtakam

  • Chanting of slokas composed by Adi Shankara

We encourage everyone to participate and also offer to host the puja at your home and gain the blessings of Adi Acharya.
