Śrī gāyatrī rāmāyaṇam is a curated selection of 24 shlokas from Sage Valmiki’s Rāmāyaṇa. The sacred Gāyatrī mantra has 24 syllables. Each syllable (or akshara) of this mantra is mapped to one shloka in Valmiki’s Rāmāyaṇa. The first letter of each of the 24 selected shlokas corresponds sequentially to the 24 syllables of the Gāyatrī mantra. This structure symbolizes that the entire essence of the Ramayana is embedded in the Gāyatrī mantra. Chanting the Gayatri Ramayanam is believed to grant the spiritual benefits of reciting the entire Rāmāyaṇa besides aligning the devotee with the cosmic vibration of Gāyatrī and serving as a compact spiritual practice for meditation and devotion.
This class will cover chanting the 24 shlokas and the summarized meaning of each verse.
Class will start on Jun 17th and meet on Wednesdays from 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM EST ( 6:00 AM - 7.00 AM - IST) .
